Spinning during a lucid dream might do more for you than just avoid premature awakening. It can also help you create the dream scene you want. Here's how to do it.
1. Before going to sleep, decide on a time, person, and place that you want to visit in your lucid dream. The target can be a past, present, or future, real or imaginary.

2. Write down your target phrase and memorize it, and then vividly visualize your self going to your target and firmly resolve to do this in a dream tonight.
3. Just by the intention, you can find yourself in a non-lucid dream at the target. Though, a better way to get to your target is to become lucid first and then seek your goal. When you're in a lucid dream where the imagery starts to fade and you think you're about to wake up, then spin, saying your target phrase over and over until you find yourself in a vivid dream scene-hopefully your target person, time, and place.
